About our Chapter

We meet on Wednesdays at St. James Catholic Church in Molalla, OR utilizing the Catholic Schoolhouse curriculum. We will be using “Tour 3” in 2025/2026. More info on the Scope and Sequence of the curriculum can be found here.
As a co-op, each parent will be directly involved in the success of our group. This is not a drop-off program. We’ll help you find the best fit, whether as a class leader, assistant, or with other duties as needed.
One Day a Week
On Wednesdays we gather as a community. We start the day with mass at St. James at 8am. Then from 9am -12:30pm we’ll have our instruction time, followed by lunch and then recess/social time. A snack time is also built into the morning.
We divide into groups for instruction:
- Nursery (birth to 2)
- Pre-Grammar (ages 3-5)
- Grammar (elementary grades K-5, which is further split into Grammar A (K-2) and B (3-5))
- Dialectic (middle school grades 6-8)
- Rhetoric (high school grades 9-12)
We’ll cover the subjects of art, history, geography, language arts, religion, science and Latin.
The Other 4 Days of the School Week
You’ll complete your homeschool curriculum at home, tailoring it to your family’s needs and your preferences. Review content from our Wednesday meetings using the Tour Guide and CDs to reinforce memory work. Then use your own curriculum for math, reading and writing. Watch this video for more information on “what we do at home” at the Grammar level.
Field Trips/Liturgical Celebrations
Our schedule also includes 5 field trips for the year, as well as liturgical celebrations once a month. See the Calendar page for more details.
